Dorothy Outram and Associates (now Outram Associates) was established in 1980 and incorporated within Scientific Communications International Pty Ltd in 1992.
Directors, Dorothy and Bill Outram, have many years' experience in both public and private sector employment. They are committed to professional development and remain abreast of new themes in training and writing as well as computing technology.
Dorothy is the company's principal presenter. She is a writer, editor and qualified teacher with a background in language, literature, psychology and business practices.
In the training room, Dorothy creates an open and receptive atmosphere which participants say is ideal for learning. Her theory segments are enlivened by examples from her own experience, then reinforced with exercises and helpful feedback. At all times, Dorothy maintains close contact with her clients to ensure their requirements are being met.
During 1997, Outram Associates was selected to take part in a pilot project sponsored by the ACT Vocational Education and Training Authority to establish Quality standards among private training providers.
The company has a proud record of successful contracts with the Commonwealth Government, the ACT Government and the University of Canberra. Current and recent clients include the Department of Defence, the Public Service and Merit Protection Commission, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, the Australian Greenhouse Office, the Treasury, the North Queensland Regional Directors Network, the Australian Taxation Office, and the Staffing Services Branch of the Australian National University.
